Date a woman from New Brunswick, Canada. About me: I'm a poet and free-lance writer and absolutely love my second career, having retired in 2007 after 32 years in education. I've been divorced for a number of years and my former husband has since died. The real love of my life is my only daughter, but she lives 19 hours (by car) from here, so I only see her twice a year -- at Christmas and in the summer. In Myers Briggs terms I'm an INFJ or according to Chemistry.com a "Negotiator", which is probably more descriptive of me.
Who I'm looking for: In practical terms, someone from my area in Moncton, NB. I've seen the profiles of a number of men from other parts of Canada who look as if they would be wonderful partners, but distance presents certain problems -- one can't pop out for a quick coffee with someone from Ontario or BC. In terms of important qualities, I would like to meet a man who is kind, honest and with a sense of humour (but not a practical joker, puleeze!). I would describe myself the same way. Authenticity is the best single word to describe what I'm looking for. I like people who truly ARE the people they say they are. I would enjoy companionship and "togetherness" but I need to have time to myself as welll.
I also believe that character supercedes charm, that actions speak louder than words, and that happiness comes from within. I can promise to treat you with love, kindness and respect, cook your favouite meal and remain honest and faithful to a commitment, but I can't promise to "make you happy" -- you have to own that yourself.
I also believe we choose our moods and behaviors -- there are no excuses for "bad hair" days...therefore I choose to have a good day everyday and if I'm not, I seek to find a solution, quickly, before I spoil someone else's day.
So that's it for now, until I think of something else.
