I'm new to Edmonton and the only people I know are the people I work with. I'm a laid back guy with a dry, sarcastic sense of humour. I love skiing and hate running, but for some reason I'm training for a half-marathon right now. I love to travel and have been fortunate enough to get away often enough to do it. If I had to describe myself, I would say that I am very creative, honest, fun, and down to earth. I am quite dynamic and open to try almost anything with exception of karaoke (unless the sound of a cow on meth amphetamine appeals to you). I'm very inquisitive, open minded, and love to learn and experience new things. A jack of all trades I suppose; I'm handy in the garage, handy in the kitchen, and handy fixing your printer! I'm not religious, but i am very spiritual and interested in yoga, meditation, and eastern philosophy. I have a huge passion for art, learning, nutrition, and self-improvement. I'm also half Asian, so I guess you could say that I get 50% of my math questions right!
I like to stay active and play league Badminton, practice yoga, mountain bike, roller-blade, snowboard, and partake in random adventures! I love to travel (when I get the chance) and look forward to road trips in random directions! I'm not a big drinker, so bars and clubs do not appeal to me, but I do enjoy a nice glass of wine on the patio. Other things I really like: the symphony, hockey, performing arts, board games, movies, music, reading, painting, drawing, renovations, and other numerous hobbies. What am I primarily looking for? Well, I think I've come up with 4 main ideas based on past experience and where I am at at this stage of my life:
A good communicator.
I am looking for someone who is committed to open and honest communication and unafraid to talk about touchy subjects or discuss solutions to problems. There are many people who can talk a lot about themselves or superficial things, but that does not equal good communication! Good communication also means having the courage to let someone know when your not happy with how things are going, or preferably, letting that person know when they are! I am very open and honest, so I need the other person to be as well.
Basic attraction.
I would honestly say that I am much more attracted to the quirky girl next door than the socialite beauty queen. I'll admit, I'm drawn to pretty eyes and a nice smile, but the most important thing to me is that the person be healthy and happy with themselves. To me, nothing is less attractive than a person with ego, who's always comparing herself to others, or doesn't take care of herself. I have no particular type, but I am attracted to someone who is authentic, feminine, happy, and comfortable in her own skin.
Relationship Readiness.
I am looking for someone that is unafraid of commitment, who knows how to be in a mature, healthy, and supportive relationship. I'm not saying that things need to be rushed, and serious right away, just that commitment and desire for something meaningful is the ultimate goal whether its me or someone else. It's very important that I meet someone like-minded, who understands her own emotional needs and is open to communicating them openly and freely. As well, she would value developing romance and deep connections, but also understands the importance of personal time and balance. If you understand the concept of "rubber bands" and "waves", then I AM the guy for you!!
Desire to grow.
A desire for learning new things, self-improvement, romance, and building a spiritual connection is key. I want to be in a relationship where we can grow together and incorporate new ideas and experiences into our lives. For that to happen, we both would have to admit that we are flawed and be equally excited to build and grow as a team. There is a great saying that saying that says that it is wrong to "FALL in love" (and lose oneself)… but rather that we should aim to "RISE in love" instead. To me the latter seems so much more appealing, since things would only get better with each and every day I hope that this resonates strongly with my potential partner too!

Well what can I say about myself? I love sports, and I'm a huge Oilers fan. I play hockey year round and anything to do with sports and you've got my attention. I enjoy camping and I'm an avid sportsman, hunting and fishing etc. my friends would say that I'm very competitive. Family is important and I have a very close group of friends which I wouldn't have any other way.
