I'm just looking to date mainly in my area and you're probably not going to be the one because let's face it, Angelina Jolie is already taken. But at least we both get to meet someone new. I'm not really looking to answer the "suggestions" Match.com made because if you knew what made me happy, you'd make money off of me. I'm also not interested in writing too much about me since my profile picture is what you'll use to decide if you want to contact me or not. Besides if I wanted to write about myself, I'd have published an autobiography or a blog.
I don't mind sharing details about me but I'd rather do it in person instead of writing it out over 4000 characters that you probably won't read. I believe first encounters are never truly about ourselves. We'll talk about a few things there'll be awkward silences, it's what makes a date fun and stressful.
So why this site over any other ones? First, it's a paid site so it shows two things. You're serious about meeting someone because you're paying for it and you probably have a job since you're paying for the service. Granted it's not expensive, you still need a job no matter how low paid it is to use this site. Not to mention all the money blown on extra features, clothing and grooming to meet a date.
Second, not only the ads were more convincing but you (women) seem to be more attractive and interesting here than on other sites (based on 5 minutes of research).
If you've read that far congrats, I'll share something about me. My idea of an ideal date is simply finding a nice restaurant to have a decent meal and a conversation. The dinner can last an hour or three depending on how much we have to say. All in all I believe it can't fail because even if the date was bad the food can't be worse. If it was, we'd have a lot to talk about regarding the food/service which would probably make the date less awkward conversation-wise.
I'm new to online dating so my viewpoint will obviously change with time but for now, communicating by email is probably the only thing I'd consider acceptable or interesting online. For the love of God please don't wink or send emoticons to get my attention. Do you like being sent winks by random guys? Well me neither. If you love this kind of attention, why don't we be penpals. If you have a good profile it'll be good enough to get my attention.
I'd rather you write anything then sending winks. Don't know what to write? Here's a tip: "Wow you're pretty straight, I was wondering what you think about _____" or if you're more aggressive: "I'm interested in getting to know you more, how about we meet for ______". Simple isn't it?
