Date a man from British Columbia, Canada. My Ideal girl? Of course having some overlapping goals and interests is important. She might be interested in: learning for life, spending lots of time outside, having poetry written about her, seeing new horizons, working hard and playing harder. Laughter, loud and often is a must. I want her to look good and feel great about herself and I’ll do my best to reinforce those ideals every day. I would hope that she values her family ties and they are strong, but I understand that can’t be the case for all. Oh, and if she could help unload the camping gear, clean up, and be ready for the symphony in less than half an hour… hey, one can dream can’t he?
Me? I like to smile at the simple things in life and strive to see the beauty in all things. I'm an overeducated travel junkie. I need sunshine like I need air. I have a sarcastic/dark sense of humor. I don’t watch TV but enjoy movies and I laugh way too hard at fail videos. When I garden, I daydream of being at sea. At sea I ponder sitting under a tree. I am also fond of this notion of “finding great love”. I know it seems like a given, but what if one made that their goal?
I think my best attribute is versatility. I can talk shop at the mechanics, cuss like a sailor, shoe a horse and hold my own in any academic debate. I also know when to keep my thoughts to myself and lend an ear. I am a terrible liar and sweet, I have been told, is my default.
So, while looking for a long term companion is the eventual goal, I’m also interested in meeting a person for the simple sake of having a good conversation with someone who has a different perspective than I do. Whether it is for lunch, coffee or just learning about local events or attractions. I spend time on both coasts and I’m also always looking for outdoor activities partners: hiking, surfing, climbing or whatever.
